This was an EMail I received and has been around a while. You might have seen or received something like it. Take note that these ARE over the counter and WE ALL HAVE used this major ingredient for one thing or another! I know I DID!

It has been linked to increased hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in brain) Among women ages 18-49 in the three days after starting use of medication.

I just found out and called the 800# on the container for Triaminic and they informed me that they are voluntarily recalling the following medicines because of a certain ingredient that is causing strokes and seizures in children

I have never heard about "COUGH CPR", but if it could save a life it is worthwhile reading about it and remembering this simple procedure.
It is highlighted in GREEN, below.
What are you to do if you have a heart attack while you are alone.
If you've already received this, It means people care about you.
The Johnson City Medical Center staff actually discovered this and did an in-depth study
On it in our ICU. The two individuals that discovered this then did an article on it,
had it published and have had it incorporated into ACLS and CPR classes.
It is very true and has and does work.
It is called cough CPR.
Let's say it's 6:15 p.m. And you're driving home (alone), after an usually hard day on the job.
You're really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain
in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw.
You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home.
Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far.
What can you do? You've been trained in CPR !
But the guy that taught the course didn't tell you what to do if it happened to yourself.
HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN YOU ARE ALONE..
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, this article seemed to be in order.
Without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint,
Has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each
Cough, and the cough must be deep
And prolonged, as when producing sputum
From deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated
About every two seconds without let up
Until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and
Keep the blood circulating.
The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.
Tell as many other people as possible about this, it could save their lives!

The New, Not So Well Known Use For Aspirin

About Heart Attacks
There are other symptoms of a heart attack besides the pain on the left arm.
One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating, however these symptoms may also occur less frequently.
Note: There may be NO pain in the chest during a heart attack. The majority of people (about 60%) who had a heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up. However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.
If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.
Afterwards:
- phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by
- say "heart attack!"
- say that you have taken 2 aspirins..
- take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and...
~ do NOT lie down ~
A Cardiologist has stated that, if each person, after receiving this e-mail, sends it to 10 people, probably one life can be saved!

Dr. Virend Somers, a cardiologist from the Mayo Clinic who is lead author of the report in the July 29, 2008 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
Most heart attacks occur in the day, generally between 6 A.M. and noon, Somers said. Having one during the night, when the heart should be most at rest, means that something unusual happened. Somers and his colleagues have been working for a decade to show that sleep apnea is to blame.
1. If you take an aspirin or a baby aspirin once a day, take it at night. The reason: aspirin has a 24-hour "half-life". Therefore, if most heart attacks happen in the wee hours of the morning, the aspirin would be strongest in your system.
2. FYI, aspirin lasts a really long time in your medicine chest.............years. (when it gets old, it smells like vinegar.) ( HOWEVER, I heard differently! )

Bayer is making crystal aspirin to dissolve instantly on the tongue. They work much faster than the tablets.
